Budget Hotels in The Lake District - Waterhead Bay
Lake House Hotel Waterhead Bay – Highly Recommended
Undoubtedly one of the best budget hotels in the Lake District, Ambleside, LakeHouse opens out onto Windermere and offers spectacular views across WaterheadBay, Windermere, Loughrigg Fell and the Langdale Pikes.
An elegant small country house which at the same time manages to be stylish, modern and informally relaxed with caring staff and management that really go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The 12 ensuite individual rooms are extremely well-appointed with extras that you don’t expect at this price – doubles start at £49, such as flat screen TVs, music system and DVDs. Some rooms have lake views for which there is a supplement which still offers value for money
The hotel serves a traditional Lakeland hot and cold buffet breakfast in its’ dining room which affords wonderful lake and mountain views. Its’ sister hotel, just 400 yards away has an indoor pool which guests staying at Lake House are welcome to use as well as their restaurant (Lake House does not serve dinner). Room service is available and LakeHouse is only a short walking distance away from Ambleside with plenty of inns and restaurants.

Dear Juliette,
GREAT read. Voted up and away! Wonderful photos and great writing also! I must say that I am VERY impressed at your talent. This hub needs to be made into a brochure that tells people where to stay and why. In short, this is NEEDED. A LOT. Thanks, Juliette for sharing your wisdom and talent. Your friend, Kenneth
This sounds like a place I am going to have to put on my wish list. It sounds like an enjoyable place to visit.
Though it can rain you should all go there because it is stunning
The Lake District is so beautiful and a joy to stay in. I have spent a few weekends and longer holidays there. Seeing the homes of Wordsworth and Potter was wonderful. I do wish I had been told beforehand about the limited parking for cars. Although I understand about the reason for this, and not cluttering the countryside with cars everywhere. Really enjoyed reading this hub!
I can't wait to use this information, but alas, my wife and I have already visited Ireland and England (though we never really left London except for a day trip to Warwick Castle) and I had to promise our next trip would be to someplace warm.
You wouldn't happen to know of some inexpensive hotels in the South of France, would you? :-)
Looks like it would be a fantastic place to spend an anniversary. Europe is a place I must visit one day.
I can see why you like living here! Great info for a potential visitor.
Juliette - You're mean! That is all so lovely it makes a person dissatisfied to not BE there!
I keep leaving comments on your site and you erase them for some reason, but I don't care :-)))
Awesome information and scenery :)

you do a lot to make it sound so good!
This sounds like such a delightful vacation. Thanks for sharing the information. I might be able to afford a "like district" trip if I could stay somewhere on a budget!
